Where Kion Went

The hyenas had been expelled from their lands for a long time now ever since Kion's rise into power of the Lion Guard. They were no longer a threat and the Outlanders had been dead quiet for many seasons now. Kion felt now was a good time as any to finally strike out on his own awhile, to see the world beyond the Pridelands, help the outside world and discover more about himself that wasn't just in the kingdom. Simba had reluctantly agreed to let Kion go, knowing with the hyena clan now vanquished they could handle Zira and her pride if they ever came out of the dark barren hole that was their land. Kion's friends Bunga, Beshte, Ono and Fuli had decided to follow Kion, much to his surprise and was very touched. Nala and Rafiki had been very reassuring and encouraging of Kion's prospect to grow further in his abilities, experiences he could only find outside the Pridelands now that he's faced all he could here.

He bid farewell to his sister, pressing their foreheads together with a low purr. "I'll be back in time for your first hunt, sis," Kion told her.

"You better! Just... be careful out there little brother..."

When Kion and friends turned on their heels and left across the borders for adventure unknown, Simba could only watch with a worried frown. He let his eyes fall to Kiara as she watched her brother go. Despite the calm in his lands, Simba felt perhaps it was too peaceful. He had to restrain himself from calling out to his teenage son to return but he refrained, tightening his jaw. He would be watchful as a eagle, especially over Kiara and with the possibility of Outlanders watching in quiet for their guard to be let down...

Kion leaves with the Lion Guard on a quest of growth basically, to endure the unknown and to better themselves. The lands are peaceful now, the hyenas gone and Zira and her pride seemingly disappeared over night since Kiara's encounter with Kovu. It doensn't mean Simba isn't paranoid of what is to come. After Kovu, Vitani and their pride are welcomed into the Pridelands, Kion and the guard return and see that the war has been overcome by Kiara and her newfound husband Kovu.
