There was an unsettling feeling in the air. A prickle that ran down her spine, a gross kind of tickle. It didn't feel right. Not at all. She tried to shrug it off as she buried the fresh corspe of a vole she'd just pounced to the ground a few moments ago. But as she hunted, time passing ever so slow, the feeling grew worse and soon, she paused. Snow fell from the sky, heavier than before and the fog and winds had grown worse. Where was she? Where was Sleetstorm and Lionrush? Whitefeather and Basilpaw? Nowhere... Nervously, she pinned her ears, orange eyes shooting about. "Guys?" She called out, nose wrinkling. Pumapaw decided to turn back, following her scent trail back to where she had started. She struggled against the icy breezes, her large amount of fur high and flying. "Sleetstorm?!" She called, Pumapaw eagerly picking her ears. The Persian couldn't find the deputy. Then, the eerie feeling returned and Pumapaw frowned. I better find Basilpaw. He's probably freezing his tail off out 'ere without me! Oh, if only she knew. If only... She continued on, slow as she bounded along. "Basilpaw? Basilpaw? Basil?" Pumapaw heaved a sigh as she sat. Though, she noticed the vague image of paw prints. Those are Basilpaw's tracks... He always steps like a dainty girl. Yeesh... How far did he go? This looks weird... She cocked her head curiously, the Persian continuing as quick as she could. That was when she finally found him. "Basil, what're you doin'? Sleepin' on the job eh? Not a way a warrior in training should be!" She said loudly, playful. Though, her playful features fell at his stillness. "C'mon Basilpaw, get up." Nothing. "Basilpaw! This isn't funny anymore! Get up!" She felt something drop in her belly as she approuched him. She felt him. Stone cold, lifeless. "Basil...?" She whispered. Her heart skipped a beat. "Sleetstorm! Sleetstorm! Whitefeather?! ANYBODY?!" She hurried away a second before she stumbled to a halt. He must of been out here a while... He'll die without... Pumapaw turned back to him and crawled, covering his cold body with her own. She pressed her nose to his forehead, whispering sweet nothings to her unconcious companion. "I'm here."

(The lyrics in case you're too lazy to click :l xD)
Only as I slowly freeze I reach for you I reach for you And now I know where no one’s ever been Right next to you Right next to you
Around me, radiant white Deep in this ocean of ice Where now my compass is lost
I am on course Straight back To you The storm drags me over the sea Away from here I search for the tracks in the snow
Only because angels freeze I feel your touch I feel your touch And only after my blood’s frozen stiff I feel so much I feel so much
I’ve been through Hell and beyond Running in cold for so long And now all my hope is gone
I am on course Straight back To you The storm drags me over the sea Away from here I’m drifting away back on course Straight back To you The storm drags me over the sea Away from here I search for the tracks in the snow
Phew. So proud of this Especially Pums' eyes for some odd reason >.> I dunno, two days of work
I really love the expression and emotion in this piece! You can obviously see how concerned and scared Pumapaw is. The snow is beautiful and very well done, it looks very soft and realistic. The shading is good, too, though I'd love to see you experiment with some subtle blending. I would suggest putting a bit more detail in the grass in back, it looks sketched out and unfinished, it would tie the piece together if it looked full and had some defintion, sheen and/or shadows. Puma seems to have too many wrinkles, I personally think. I know it is part of her design, but it looks too harsh. Try using shading to show wrinkles rather than black lines, maybe? As if it looks almost as if she's hairless or covered in latex. Jaws a bit big for face. Beautiful piece, though, overall. Lots of emotion and lovely background- I love how much thought you obviously put a lot of thought into the way the pair are both feeling.
I'll start by saying that I love this You do expressions really well, and it is clearly seen that Puma is worried about the orange tabby. I really enjoy the style of the faces and the paws and the snow in this picture looks so soft. The orange tabby's tail looks a bit awkward and so does Puma's fornt leg. I would also think Puma's tail and leg should hang down instead of looking so tense, but how you did them were nice. The backround is rather bland but thats understandable during a snow storm. The grass just looks out of place, Maybe adding some shading under the grass would make it look as if it was just floating around. All in all great work
Very touching piece. The background is beautiful, and the characters are gold. <3 You can almost feel the cold breeze coming out of the scenery... hang in there Basil.
