The wild wolf had taken the team by surprise, hurtling itself from the shadows of the blizzard to aim for the nearest dog. Snowy had been knocked from his harness from the sheer power of the feral beast, the two white canines quickly becoming eaten by the snowstorm that descended over the Kings. Snowy and the wild cousin fought brutally, teeth and claws drawing blood. Its eyes were crazy and mouth opened to hurl insults at the wolfdog. The moment Snowy suddenly felt his collar and banana be ripped from his neck, it was as if it symbolically unleashed a savage. Snarling loudly, he'd sunk his teeth into the wolf's throat without a thought, holding tightly before suddenly, it fought no more. Adrenaline leaving Snowy high, he breathed heavily and shakily turned to find Atka and the team. The man pointed his rifle at him and Snowy stared wide-eyed. It was only several moments before his master realized he wasn't the wolf and lowered his gun. Wearily he turned to where he knew the wolf's body lay and it dawned on him, Snowy had acted like the thing the dogs and human feared most. He'd killed something of their kind and even as he was rehooked onto the sled, shame filled his belly and with all his might focused on the race. What else could he do?
