Description

Name: Ester
Sex: Female
Relations: Daughter to Turk, Mayne; sister to Gino, Molly; mate to Avin; mother to Lucas, Evelyn, Gabby
Biography: Ester is born to the wandering pair Turk and Mayne. She grows up alongside her brother Gino and sister Molly on the open fields of a farm. These are some of the best moments of her puppyhood, running around the grassy slopes and exploring the woods alongside their home. Burrowing under ground after rabbits and other rodents for fun and for the hunt. She is close to her father, and picks up many of his habits, as well as the funny accent she carries with her for most of her life. Life is simple, just her parents, her siblings and the humans who let them into their home when the weather becomes nasty.

Eventually, she is the first of her siblings to suddenly find themselves adopted. Wrapped in a bow by the woman of the household. She is confused, and taken away from her mother and father. She never gets to say goodbye, but her parents knew the day was long coming. Gino and Molly are adopted out not long after. A family of four takes Ester in happily, a male and his female mate, who have two 'pups' of their own, a boy who Ester often calls 'the Thing' and a sweet little girl named May. May and Ester grow close, especially in the time Ester is homesick for her family. May would cradle the pup close to her chest like many of her baby dolls and cuddle her all through the night. Turk, Mayne, Gino and Molly become something of a sad yet sweet memory, fading away as she grows older and older into a grown up dog.

However, fate throws a curbball once more. Her second family is taken away suddenly during a boating trip across the ocean. A sudden storm brews in, and May falls overboard. Ester dives in after once she sees it happen, hearing the girl's mother yell for her daughter with outstretched hands toward the water. Water fills her lungs, and Ester struggles to pinpoint her person. The girl bobs over the ways, crying out before being swallowed up by a wave. She paddles after furiously, and manages to grab May by the collar of her shirt. The tyke holds onto Ester tightly, and Ester manages to bring her human close to the boat where she is taken to safety. Ester, however, isn't so lucky. She is taken away by a hungry wave, swept by a whirlpool. The last thing Ester remembers is May's trembled cries for her 'puppy.'

She never does find them again, like how she never finds her first blood family. She awakes to a new place, washed upon the shores of a strange land. Groggy, Ester passes out again, simmering under the sun. For awhile, she wanders the streets as a stray, journeying to try and find her humans. Its all in vain, as she has no idea where she is, let alone where her humans will be now. Ester is crushed, and with a skinny figure and a heart heavy, it is then she turns to wander down an ally, only to be face-to-face with a group of sneering dogs.

Ester is chased down by the gang of angry dogs lead by a skinny male named Ashcan. Cornered, Ester is frantic and unable to escape, just staring into the angry eyes of the pack. It is then a small brown creature steps in, leaping over Ashcan and standing bravely over her. His voice is like honey to her ears, and he is very scrawny. Yet, she can see faint muscle tracing his arms and spine as he fights back against the dogs. He is very skilled, using the trash cans, debris and other objects around them to trip the pack up. Ashcan turns tail and runs, and her gallant prince huffs, turning to her.

His eyes narrow, and with a short, "Take care hairball," he begins to take his leave. Ester's heart sputters, and quickly, she chases after him. He isn't too thrilled by this, but she doesn't care. She is grinning so wide her jaw hurts and she's grabbing and hugging him with yells of how she was going to repay him for saving her life.

Its then she learns her gallant prince is named Avin, and he is the biggest jerk she's ever met in her life. Avin is cold and distant, as well as easily provoked. Anything annoys him, but Ester is oblivious and makes it her mission to get this guy a sense of humor. Luckily, his parents are a lot more kind and pleasant, and Bailey takes to her happily. When Ester isn't living on the streets, she's usually living with Bailey and her family. Avin is anything but pleased.

Eventually, with lots of prodding, poking and just plain old patience, Avin begins to open up to her, if not reluctantly. Ester is thrilled, and soon, his uno has become a duo, and she helps him weed out the bad eggs in the neighborhood. When Ester meets Atticus one day, she is mildly insulted when he bluntly asks, 'Who's this boy? Avin, God damnit, I like mah quiet!" Though, she does become pretty attached to the old bastard, even if he has an odd type of humor. He's important to Avin and so he becomes important to her.

Ester is smitten with her hero, and in time, Avin is inclined to feel the same for this walking mop of fur. He leaves for war awhile later, and Ester, as always, remains loyal, and waits for him to return.
