It’s like there’s claws digging into my heart from all sides. I can feel it bleeding. And I know I have Willow and the twins here with me, but it doesn’t ease the ache of loss I feel about Gerard being taken from me. Nothing does.

For the first few days, I couldn’t even force myself out of bed in the morning. I pulled on one of his sweaters and closed my eyes tight, trying to pretend that he was there and holding me in his embrace. And while I did this I played a voice message he had left before he was taken over and over again, just to hear his voice and the ‘I love you’ at the end. My e Threw in newborn Am and young Willow.
