Hvitt Concept - Rudolph's Mother

More concept art for my Rudolph fan story! This time featuring Rudy's mother Hvitt! Slight spoilers below, read if you wish but it isn't anything too destructive~

Hvitt was known as a graceful, calm soul with a protective fire in her chest. Her mate was the leader of the herd, who had taken interest in her white pelt and regal personalty. However when she was pregnant with Rudolph, he is killed by infection after being attacked by some wolves. The herd is taken over by his brother and Hvitt mourns quietly. Some weeks later, she is separated from the herd and isolates herself into a damp cave to give birth. The fawn is small and weak and Hvitt can't bare to lose her son too. So Hvitt takes to praying to the ancient spirits of the north she'd heard tales of since childhood. She trades herself in exchange to save her son, the spirit breathes life into Rudolph, thus saving him. His nose turns red from the leftover magic. Its when the spirit begins leaving does he tell Hvitt that her payment will come in eight months time...
